I have been visiting the Cinque Terre since my childhood, and I know them like the back of my hand. This familiarity with the locations allows me to know when to go to find the best conditions, such as the image here. The completely empty village, together with the soft and warm light of sunrise, inspired me the feeling of a new beginning; a mildly long exposure helped me turn the clouds into lines complementing those of the rocks below them, for a radiating composition originating where the raising sun is.” – Vieri
