“I love to create visual metaphors, using the reality in front of me to represent a different concept. When I saw these rocks washed by the ocean’s waves, I immediately envisioned them as mountaintops standing above a thick layer of low clouds. To create this photograph as I envisioned, I chose a long exposure of over six minutes that turned the sea cloud-like, making the rocks stand out of it just like I imagined them.” – Vieri
