FLOATING AWAY

“According to the legend, the cute Ilot St. Michel with its little chapel celebrating the Archangel Michael’s victory over the devil, became an islet when Michael stomped his foot on the ground splitting the land and allowing sea water to pour in and drag the devil away. This story made me imagine the islet floating away, not being connected to the mainland anymore; on a morning with moving clouds at sunrise I decided to use a long exposure to convey the idea of a floating islet. A long exposure just under three minutes worked perfectly to create the image I envisioned.” – Vieri
