LAST CHANCE

“The view from up top down Glen Coe is a favorite of mine and every time I go to Glen Coe I just have to go back up. The scene is very inspiring with any light; stormy weather, however, particularly resonates with the Scottish landscape for me, and I wanted to portray the Sisters of Glencoe under a gloomy sky for quite some time. When occasion arose, I jumped at the chance – literally! – rushing up the hill on my way back to Glasgow. That was my last chance for a stormy photograph during that trip, and I couldn’t miss it. I composed carefully to create a layered image, built on various distance planes to suggest depth and scale, and when a brighter cloud broke through at the end of the valley, I knew that was it – I had my image.” – Vieri
