QUENCHING THIRST

“The iconic Durdle Door, in Dorset, is one of the most photographed landmarks of the Jurassic Coast. In almost a decade of visits, I enjoyed interpreting it from pretty much every possible vantage point – including down at the beach, farther away along the cliffs, and so on. On this particular stormy evening, I envisioned Durdle Door as a Jurassic creature drinking from a pond. I needed a long enough exposure to turn the ocean into a calm pond and the breaking waves into a white curve profiling the coastline. One minute and a half exposure was perfect for that: the creature was ready to quench her thirst.” – Vieri
