RAGING GLORY

“River Coe is one of the many streams and burns that make Glen Coe a truly inspiring location. The flow rate of these falls can vary dramatically according to the time of the year and the rain; with plenty of water they become truly raging and a sight to behold. To convey their power, I needed an equally glorious sky, as only a winter sky after a storm can be. I composed carefully, balancing the masses of rocks against each other and against the visual masses of water and sky, for a radiating composition originating where the light is. A very mildly long exposure allowed me to get the waters flowing while keeping shape and texture in the clouds, portraying River Coe in all its raging glory.” – Vieri
