“The lagoons of the Sacca di Scardovari offer abundant inspiration for intimate, minimal imagery. The clouds above these fishing structures, used to grow mussels, looked to me like the balloons over a cartoon figure – one with scattered thoughts, though. To express this idea, I needed to smoothen the clouds slightly, while keeping their shapes visible; an exposure of about 25 seconds worked very well to convey the idea I had in mind.” – Vieri
