THE ANGER OF THE GODS

“As it often happens in Icelandic mythology, Reynisdrangar’s sea stacks are believed to be petrified trolls. Over the years, I photographed this location dozens of times, and every time the conditions I find inspire me to tell different stories. On this particular evening, the sky was very stormy and menacing; it felt like the Gods were angry at the petrified trolls under them. Rather than photographing from the beach, I went up the hill so I could use a longer lens from the distance, which helped me compressing the scene thus adding to the sense of pressure weighing on the trolls.” – Vieri
