“The Tre Cime di Lavaredo spectacular view with the Rifugio Locatelli on their side at sunset is iconic for a reason. I always felt that the Rifugio got the best seat in the house, so to speak, to watch the setting sun and I wanted to create a photograph that told this story. To convey this idea, I hiked above the Rifugio and carefully composed using a crown of brown grass to frame the scene as if I was looking down from a theater gallery; I then timed my photograph to use the warmest, last light hitting the Rifugio before it got in the shadows.” – Vieri
