THE CROSSING

“Built in the early eighteen hundreds, for over a century this single lane bridge was the only way to cross River Sligachan to the north of the Isle of Skye. No known bridge is reported to have existed before this, so one can only imagine the importance that this bridge had in the history of the Isle. When portraying it, I wanted to convey the sense of wonder, hope and possibility that the bridge must have meant to the people of Skye; nothing better than photographing it against a spectacular sunrise to express such emotions!” – Vieri
