“The long black beach at Dyrholaey is an impressive sight under any light. When covered in snow, I find it even more inspiring: the play between the white snow and the black sand creates beautiful ripples and shapes. On this particular evening, looking down to the beach I imagined the crashing waves transfigured into shapes mimicking those on the sand, making the black sand look like a fissure in between them. A long exposure of just over two minutes rendered the waves as I envisioned, and the light of dusk added the final touch.” – Vieri
