“The hills of Val d’Orcia are a gold mine for landscape photography, an area I have been working on for years and where I still find new inspiration at every visit. On this particular evening, the empty fields on crisscrossing hills, with their different hues under the light of dusk, and the single cypress, inspired me an image out of a movie – the hero watching from a hilltop, waiting for something to happen. A long exposure of about one and a half minute worked to smoothen the light on the textured earth even further.” – Vieri
